Ballroom dance #1 post - Intro
For the first post of the "Ballroom dance" topic I would like to write about the beauty of dancing in general, and why I spent a couple of years training it, photographing the competitions and watching people dance.
Some might say dancing is not a sport. Well, I have to say that one of the hardest training I did in my life was at a dance "class". What do you think, how is it that dancers can dance for more than 10 full minutes barely without stopping? They have to keep every single part of their body in the perfect position at every moment of the song. They have to be perfectly coordinated with their partner, follow the beat, move each part of the body and do all of that with an honest smile or with passion on their face.
That is exactly why I loved taking photos of ballroom dancers. It is such a strong, beautiful, passionate sport. Even though there is a strong competitiveness between two or more couples, the energy between two professional dancers (that are a couple) is beautiful.
In a next couple of posts I will talk about every dance that makes the term "Ballroom dances" (10 of them). :)
Photography is more than just visual beauty. Each photo carries a story worth telling. Each corner of the globe carries information worth knowing
