2018-2019 NBA Fantasy Team: Stairway to Kevin
It’s time for some fantasy basketball!
Ok, it’s a little early, but I just finished up a draft for a new league I entered with some fellow writers over at the 94 Feet Report (94feetreport.com).
The league has 16 teams in it, 13 players each and is a dynasty league, which I’ve never done before. Here’s how it went down for your boy.
Round | Pick No. | Overall Pick | Player Selected |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 8 | 8 | Kevin Durant |
2 | 9 | 25 | LaMarcus Aldridge |
3 | 8 | 40 | Kyle Lowry |
4 | 9 | 57 | Nikola Vucevic |
5 | 8 | 72 | Harrison Barnes |
6 | 9 | 89 | JJ Redick |
7 | 8 | 104 | Darren Collison |
8 | 9 | 121 | Domantis Sabonis |
9 | 8 | 136 | TJ Warren |
10 | 9 | 153 | Rodney Hood |
11 | 8 | 168 | Trey Burke |
12 | 9 | 185 | Marcus Morris |
13 | 8 | 200 | Wayne Ellington |
You might be wondering, how did Durant drop to 8th? Who went in front of him? Well here's a list of the top 16 picks.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Anthony Davis
- Karl-Anthony Towns
- Nikola Jokic
- LeBron James
- James harden
- Steph Curry
- Kevin Durant
- Victor Oladipo
- Russell Westbrook
- Kawhi Leonard
- Damian Lillard
- Ben Simmons
- Joel Embiid
- Paul George
- Kyrie Irving
So how’d I do? I think my first five picks were solid, and I’m satisfied with Redick and Collison. I’m excited to see how Warren will play in a small-forward melting pot over in Phoenix, and I’m excited to see how much Sabonis improved in the off season for Indiana. Towards the end of the draft the player pool started to thin out, so my last few picks were definitely some flyers. I think Hood will do well now that he is a viable offensive option in Cleveland, but I’m not sold on Burke and his fit in New York.
Stay tuned for updates, as the league play starts October 16th. Also stay tuned for a breakdown of my other fantasy league!
