Nepal selected for U-19 Asia Cup Cricket
Nepal is selected to play U-19 Asia Cup which will be held in Srilanka from August 28th. The history was repeated and Nepal won HongKong in the finals like in 2017.
HongKong lost the toss and they were dismissed in 95 runs. Nepal chased the target with ease. The openers of Nepal Pawan Sharaff and Rit Gautam made a partnership of 52 runs. Rit was out in 13 runs. Pawan and Khadak handled the innings for Nepal. Pawan was out in 39 runs in 12th over. Nepal had made 76 runs in the board. Khadak was also out in 8 runs. Rohit Paudel was out in 12 runs. BhimSharki was unbeaten in 8 runs when Nepal registered the win.
With this win, Nepal is selected to play U-19 Asia Cup which will be played from August 28th - September 8th. A total of 8 teams will be in the tournament. Srilanks, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakitan, UAE and Kuwait are in the tournament including Nepal. Nepal is also selected to play U-19 Asia Cup which will be held in 2020 November in UAE. According to the official website of ACC, HongKong is selected to participate in U-19 Asia Cup in 2020 though they are not selected for 2019.
HongKong were dismissed in 95 runs in 43.1 overs. The run rate was too low. Adit scored 24, Challu scored 19 and Raun scored 12 runs for HongKong. Other batsman could not score in double figures. Sagar Dhakal bowled 5 maiden overs and took 5 wickets and gave 18 runs in 10 overs. Kamal Singh Airi took 3 wickets in 8 overs with 2 maidens and 23 runs. Kushal and Tilak took a wicket each for Nepal.
Sagar Dhakal became the most wicket take of the tournament. He had already took 6 wickets against China, 1 against Singapore, 3 against Malaysia. With the 5 wickets against HongKong, he took a total of 15 wickets in the tournament.
