Motocross For Our Hobbies

Motocross is one of the motorbike racing sports that is held on the ground-running circuit. This sport evolved from a motorbike trial competition conducted in the UK which began in 1912, but gradually this trial event actually became a competition to find out who was the fastest touching the finish line.

Because this sport is increasingly popular, the competition has become internationally known as motocross racing. Originally known as racing scrambles in the UK, the name motocross combines words originating from France for motorcycle or in short the motto, being "cross country".

During the 1930s, this sport was increasingly popular, especially in Britain. The first race took place in Camberley, Surrey in 1924. where Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA), Norton, Matchless, Rudge and AJS teams competed in the event.

Tight competition over steep terrain causes technical improvements on motorbikes, conditions like this lasted for several years before finally, being combined with the majority of production motorcycles.

In 1952, (FIM) made the European Championship individual class championship using a 500cc engine. In 1957 an upgrade to 1962, a 250cc world championship was born.

This ground scratching race is increasingly popular in the 250cc category, companies with 2-stroke motorcycles enter their own markets. Companies such as Husqvarna from Sweden, used CZ from "Czechoslovakia and Greeves" from England, became popular because of their light weight and agility. The rider who became a star at that time included the BSA crosser who worked with Jeff Smith and Arthur Lampkin. From the Greeves camp there are Dave Bickers, "Joe Johnson and Norman Brown".

In the 1960s, the advancement of 2-stroke engine technology did not make the heavier 4-stroke engines degraded to special competitions. Drivers from "Belgium and Sweden" began to dominate the track during this period.

Then motocross was introduced to the United States in 1966 when the "Swedish champion", Torsten Hallman attended an exhibition with the top American TT riders at Corriganville Movie Ranch, also known as Hopetown in Simi Valley, "California". The following year Hallman joined other motocross stars including Roger DeCoster, Joel Robert, and Dave Bickers.
