Ferrari First Row

Four-time World Chamption Sebastian Vettel showed us today why he is at the top of the leader board. He secured his 48th pole position at tomorrows race after a fast paced qualifying session earlier. Not only is he the current championship leader and in pole position, but he is officially the lap record holder of the F1 Hungarian circuit.

Team mate Kimi "The Ice Man" Räikkönen did a suburb lap, securing second position, making it a 1-2 start for Ferrari. The result is exactly what the Ferrari team needed to boost their doubts after the wheel issues they encountered at the previous race in Britian.

"It's great, especially after...there's always a lot of talk but the talk after the last race was a bit too much so it's good to give the answer on the track." ~ Sebastian Vettel

Mercedes Second Row

Behind the prancing horse front row sit the two silver beasts draped in their luminous turquoise lines. Valtteri Bottas placed third best and out qualified the previous race winner Lewis Hamilton in fourth by 0.177 seconds. Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo took the third row.

Paul di Resta, yes the DTM Mercedes driver, currently 12th on the DTM Drivers Championship was called in late by Williams to fill in for the sick Filipe Massa. Luckily di Resta was at the even as he was busy standing in for the Sky TV presenter, Martin Brundle who was off sick as well! A bug going around in the air? Di Resta's last Formula 1 race was at Brazil in 2013 for Force India.

Looking forward to the race tomorrow , I think Vettel gonna win this time but I dont want to underestimate Hamilton .So yeah , very intresting race tomorrow at Budapest 😉

@petrolheads, I cannot wait either! Yes, Vettel is in a very strong position to win today, but let's hope their engineers get the wheel calculation right this time. They should, with the tracks medium tire wear.

Hamilton did win here last year and do have the most wins on this circuit, but if he doesn't get ahead early in the race, will he have a tough time to catch up. Let's see after the 2 pit stops how things shape out @motorsport
