Zandvoort raceway is a tight fast circuit with some naggy bits in between. Overtaking is difficult and conditions change very quickly. The circuit is located in the North Sea Dunes, a stone's throw away from the beach in a Dutch coastal town, west of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Earlier this week, Paul Di Resta, Loïc Duval and Maxime Martin got together in Zandvoort to sign some autographs and answer a couple of questions. Afterwards they had a quick boules game to determine the first winner of the weekend. It turns out that Paul di Resta threw his boules nearest to the target ball.

Paul Di Resta was called up late to the Williams Formula 1 team recently. He had to race in Felipe Massa's place, after the Brazilian pulled out due to illness ahead of the F1 Hungary Qualifying. Di Resta

“I’m not going to lie, I was scared, nervous, anxious,” he revealed. “I've not driven one of these cars for three and a half years, apart from ten laps I did in a 2014 car and then you get thrown into qualifying which is the deepest of the deep I think - it's like being thrown off a cliff and seeing how you can fight for survival.” - Paul di Resta ^(source)

Despite all that, did he qualify 19/20, but did not finished the race due to a mechanical failure. Di Resta was very happy with how fast he adapted to the Williams car and the pace he showed after a 11 hour call up. Earlier this year in June, when the DTM visited the Hungaroring, was Di Resta victorious.

Free Practice 1 & 2

Free Practice 1 ended with Augusto Farfus setting up the fastest lap, followed by Lucas Auer in the Mercedes and Marco Wittman in a BMW. The first Audi was in fourth place, driven by Mattias Ekström.

Free Practice 2 ended with a twist, with Audi taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th. Jamie Green, Loïc Duval and Rene Rast taking the top three positions.
