in #sports6 years ago

Hardik Pandya broke the back of the England batting line-up to claim his maiden five-wicket haul on the second day of the third Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Sunday. Pandya became the second fastest Indian to take a five-wicket haul when he took just 29 balls as the hosts were bundled out for 161 in their first innings. Harbhajan Singh is the only other bowler to take five wickets in fewer balls for India than Hardik Pandya's 29 balls on Sunday.

Pandya became the second fastest Indian to take a five-wicket haul when he took just 29 balls to wreak havoc. Harbhajan Singh is the fastest when he had taken 27 balls against West Indies in Kingston back in 2006.

He led the team off the ground after India bowled England for 161 in the first session on the second day of the Test.

Pandya had seemingly been under pressure for his place prior to this game following a quiet tour to date but with the help of some sharp slip catching and indifferent batting from the hosts, the all-rounder helped himself to a first Test match five-wicket haul and put India on course for a crucial victory.
