Luck VS Judgement - A Trixie Challenge - Day 10

in #sports6 years ago (edited)

Controversy exploded at Luck vs Judgement last night as it emerged that @happyaslarry had been consulting odds information whilst making his apparently random selections. The scandal, that they are calling Trixiegate, emerged at a high level meeting between the two combatants and an unnamed third party, thought to be present in the role of peacemaker.

Suspicions had first been aroused that Luck was interfering with Miss Fortune with the random selection of three short price favourites on day 3. These suspicions were confirmed last night after Poetic Force won the 20:00 at Kempton, a win that sadly for horse, jockey and tipster alike will always have an asterisk by its name. Yesterday there were no returns for either party but that was not the issue at stake. The integrity of trixie challenges everywhere has been brought into question and we are forced to wonder if the sport will ever be the same again.

Using a genuinely random process, Luck has today selected a 66/1 shot in a four horse race. This removes the each way option from the trixie; talks are ongoing to resolve this issue.

Here is @happyaslarry on Trixiegate and today’s selections:

”It will be an almighty stroke of luck if these three win today. Yesterday I followed the usual method, I selected names that had some kind of loose connection, then decided to make sure the final three had some kind of hope. Rather than opt for the 100/1 outsider ‘Nagsgotnochance’ I opted for horses with shorter odds from my shortlist. After some considerable debate with Mr Marcus Braeburn we agreed that this filtration method might be considered to be erring on the side of judgement, so I have made sure no consideration of odds is used today. And it shows. My Obsession For Gold has led me to a 66/1 chance in a four horse race. Never was the phrase ‘Good luck to me’ more needed.
So, why these three? There is an infamous occasion 10 years ago this month when some random selections landed me a tidy sum. That day, selections were as random as during this exercise in Luck Vs Judgement. One of them had champagne in the name, and one had king (or was it Lord? Probably King). Its always good to chase Gold as golden horses often win.”

I must clearly state it was a one off and not part of my regular selection process! Good luck to us and especially me in this high stakes challenge today!

Save your grovelling for the hearing at Trixie HQ!

Justice is vindicated in Luck, who wins the days head to head. Let’s hope its the first of three improbable winners!

I got excited when I saw Obsession for Gold came third... then I remembered!

Trixiegate 😂
