El técnico de Bayern Munich, Jupp Heynckes, no puede imaginar a Arsene Wenger dirigiendo otro club después de que el veterano francés anunciara que renunciará a Arsenal al final de esta temporada.

Siguiendo una conjetura sostenida sobre su futuro, Wenger confirmó este viernes en un comunicado que pondrá fin a una gestión que abarca tres décadas en el norte de Londres.

Las últimas temporadas han visto un creciente descontento de los fanáticos sobre el reinado del técnico de 68 años, pero tres títulos ganados entre 1997-98 y 2003-04 lo establecieron como un pionero indiscutible en la era de la Premier League.

Heynckes está llegando al final de su última etapa en Bayern. Es uno de los pocos hombres con más edad de Wenger que aún participa en el fútbol europeo de primer nivel, mientras los campeones de la Bundesliga se preparan para recibir al actual técnico de Eintracht Frankfurt, Nico Kovac, en el Allianz Arena.

La jubilación ha demostrado ser una situación esquiva para el técnico de 72 años, pero espera que Wenger se mantenga alejado una vez que concluya la actual campaña.

"Antes que nada hay que decir que ha completado una magnífica carrera como entrenador, en Francia y en Inglaterra", dijo Heynckes en conferencia de prensa antes del partido del sábado ante Hannover.

"Logró muchos éxitos y sus equipos jugaron un fútbol atractivo predominantemente. Era uno de los principales técnicos del fútbol europeo. Creo que tal vez podría conseguir un trabajo como gerente [director de fútbol], pero también podría regresar como entrenador de otro equipo en el fútbol de hoy", analizó.

"No sé si ya quiere hacer eso, no me lo puedo imaginar. En realidad, ya no necesita eso. Tuvo una carrera increíble", añadió.

Arsenal es sexto en la Premier League, con la esperanza de Wenger de darle a su sucesor la clasificación a la Champions League, y además apuesta por alcanzar la gloria de la Europa League. Los Gunners recibirán el próximo jueves al favorito Atlético de Madrid por el partido de ida de la semifinal.

"Con su filosofía, su estilo de juego y su estilo de liderazgo, ha influido en el fútbol inglés de una manera muy positiva. Pero en la política y en el deporte, cuando creces, y este también es el caso, tienes que decir: 'fue suficiente'", agregó Heynckes.

The retirement has proved to be an elusive situation for the 72-year-old technician, but he hopes that Wenger will stay away once the current campaign ends.

"First of all we have to say that he has completed a magnificent coaching career, in France and in England," Heynckes said at a press conference before Saturday's game against Hannover.

"He achieved many successes and his teams played predominantly attractive football, he was one of the main European soccer coaches, I think maybe he could get a job as manager [soccer director], but he could also come back as coach of another team in the football today, "he analyzed.

"I do not know if he already wants to do that, I can not imagine it, in fact, he does not need that anymore, he had an incredible career," he added.
