What the hell is Seattle doing

Did I miss something? I’m not a Seattle fan by any means, but why the hell are they trading away their defense? So far today I have seen Michael Bennett being traded and Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas on their way out. From a fan of a team that hasn’t had a defense in ..... well forever.... why would you trade away not 1, not 2, but of the best defensive players in the NFL? It’s amazing enough to have 3 on the same team in the first place so what the hell? Not to mention Jimmy Graham isn’t been signed back either which is crazy to think, but they weren’t using him to his strengths anyways.

This isn’t an informative post, this is a what the hell is going on somebody tell me type of post.

I would like to hear most plausible explanations commented. Here’s mine,

Pete Carroll is an alien and his puppet master made him do it. Well, either that or he figures if he tears his defensive down by trading away players for picks, maybe he can rebuild another legion of boom.
