Do you want to have a little fun? July 11th is just around the corner and you know what that means! The 2017 MLB All Star game. The game takes place at beautiful Marlins park in even more Beautiful Miami Florida.
So here is the fun. If you have not already done so, you can vote for your selections for this game. We can pit our favorite SUPERSTARS for the incredible annual event. And remember this game means something as the winning team secures home field advantage for their league in the World Series.
It's always fun to decide and choose who should go and it is not always who has the best stats. Maybe what player carried a team, or a player who has less support than others, or just someone who you would like to see be in it. Remember Mike Schmidt retiring in 1986 but he still got a royal send off by being voted into the All Star game.
Anyhow it is always fun to choose and have some friendly debate after.

Below are my picks and I will explain a couple of the controversial ones and my way of thinking.
Ok... I think these are pretty decent selections. There are a couple that probably need explanation. First off, I am a lifelong Dodger fan so there is some bias in these selections. My American League picks I think are on point. But Grandal at catcher and not Molina is a stretch I know but he has more homers and the Dodgers have the 3 best record in baseball. Justin Turner at 3rd...I know he missed time on the DL but he is hitting just under .400. And lastly the most controversial pick Eric Thames. I understand that stat wise Paul Goldschmidt or Joey Vato or even Freddy Freeman are more deserving. But this guy despite missing time on the DL has hit 20 homeruns and has carried this team. There is a reason why the Brewers of all teams are in First Place! And I love his youthful enthusiasm.
OK so here is the fun part of voting. Thank you. Well they have Joe Maddon coaching the game and a championship ring to boot. Despite some down years for the players they are still only a game out of 1st. We will see the Cubs challenge for the World Series this year.
