I am very excited

This is a fight I have been patiently waiting for weeks now and I know I am not alone. This is one of the biggest and most anticipated fights of all time. The estimated TV revenue alone is potentially over 400 million dollars.

There are many reasons this fight is so appealing to both boxing and MMA fans alike. Mayweather is arguably the best defensive boxer that ever lived, and McGregor is argueably the best fighter that MMA has to offer. Or in the weight class at least.

Now there isn't any debate that in either the octagon or in a street fight, McGregor would decimate Mayweather. But Boxing is a very deciplined and pure sport. Could McGregor really compete against a master tactician like Mayweather? Well, let's have a look at both fighters:

Mayweather

pros:

• Professional boxer
• Very defensive fighter
• 49-0 record
• One of the most respected fighters of all time

cons:

• Weaker against southpaws
• 40 years of age

McGregor

pros:

• Southpaw
• Very strong puncher
• 11 years younger than Mayweather
• Unorthodox style

cons:

• Not a professional boxer
• Less experience

Conclusion

Personally, I would love to see MgGregor win. If one the greatest boxers of all time were to lose to an MMA fighter it would make the history books. I can see two likely outcomes to this fight; either McGregor wins by knockout or Mayweather by points. I cannot imagine McGregor outboxing Mayweather for 12 rounds and I can't imagine Mayweather knocking out McGregor, but this is the fight game and everything is possible. For me, this fight comes down to strength vs strategy. Let me know who you want to win or who you think will win and why.
