Martial Arts: Do Violence to No Man

in #sports8 years ago (edited)

KJV Luke 3:14 - And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Over the years I talked to people that have a hard time thinking about if they could ever do something devastating to another person or think martial arts is too violent. To help everyone out I want to show what the Bible has to say. The Bible is clear not to murder anyone.
KJV GENESIS 9:6 - Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
But let’s look at the verse in Luke it says, “Do violence to no man.” What is violence? I can assure you that it doesn’t mean that you can’t defend yourself. The word “violence” comes from the word “violate.” God says you have the right to defend yourself. What you don’t have the right to do is to go out and be a bully. Studying the martial arts is not about a prideful person going out and starting trouble.
KJV Exodus 22:2 - If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
Violence is when you do something to an innocent person. Remember, you have every right to defend yourself even to the point you take their life, but they better be the aggressor 100%. As a martial artist you don’t go out and run your mouth, or go out looking for trouble because trouble will find you. If someone ends up hurt or worse killed, because you stirred things up, then their blood is on you.

Very much agree! Someone who aggresses against the innocent, especially those who are unable to defend themselves, has forfeit their humanity and in doing so has made themself a justified target of "corrective measures".
