First american football championship
In September 2021. started the first national championship in american football in Bulgaria with full equipment. It involved seven teams divided into two divisions. After contested battles on green ground across the country, "Sofia Knights" and "Sofia Bears" reached the final. "Knights" defeated "Bears" with 20: 6 and thus became champions of Bulgaria only three years after its founding.
In 2021 "Sofia Knights" have not lost a single match against a Bulgarian club, as well as a historic first victory against "Bucharest Titans" in Romania.
We are looking forward to the start of the new championship in 2022, which this year starts on April 2.
This is cool to see. I always wondered if European countries were at all interested in American football. I know it has a decent following in the UK but had no idea there were championships in Bulgaria. Nice!
