[WRC]: Review of the Rally Turkey 2019.

in #sports5 years ago (edited)

Hello! Until the end of the championship there is very little. Last weekend, WRC visited gravel roads in Turkey. The current champion Sebastian Ogier is returning to the fight, and the championship leader was left without points and more on that.

Gravel and intense heat, coupled with heavy rain, caused many problems for riders. However, such conditions could not hold back the Citroen team, whose two pilots were leaders in the race. Esapekka Lappi was 17.7 seconds ahead of Sebastian Ogier after the first day. Thierry Neuville stayed 1 second from Ogier. He showed himself very well from the first day of races Teemu Suninen, who held in fourth place on Friday. Andreas Mikkelsen closed the top five at a distance of 1 minute from the leader.

Obviously, Toyota Gazoo has been having problems this weekend since day one. Due to problems with the electrical system, Ott Tanak was forced to leave the highway on Saturday. Jari-Matti Latvala took on the role of team leader, remaining in sixth place, but after receiving a puncture, he eventually went to ninth position. The leaders at the same time exchanged positions Sebastian Ogier beat his partner Esapekka Lappi. On the first day, they were separated by 0.2 seconds. A good result was shown by Andreas Mikkelsen becoming the third and best of the Hyundai team. Well, the best in the M-Sport Ford team was still Teemu Suninen becoming the fourth. Thierry Neuville, after an error that cost him more than four minutes, returned to the eighth track.

In the same composition and with the same arrangement, the riders finished the third day of the rally. Sebastian Ogier won, 17 points closer to Ott Tanak in the standings. Esapekka Lappi became the second by adding a few points to the Citroen team. Third place went to Andreas Mikkelsen. It is also worth noting that M-Sport Ford was still experiencing problems in this rally, but this time Gus Greensmith and Pontus Tidemand were able to complete the rally in the top 10.
