Conor "The notorious" McGregor
Introduction
Today im writing about one of the best athlete in the world in my opinion. Im going to describe his all UFC fights in short words and some pictures.
Conor McGregor is currently the champion in lightweight division in the UFC.
So i will start from the begining, when he started profesional mma fighting, on the interview he said this :
"My name is conor mcgregor, im a profesional MMA fighter with a record of four and one and i am a up-and-coming fighter and without a doubt you will see me on the UFC in their future ."
On 6 April 2013, McGregor made his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage on the preliminary card of He was successful in his first bout, winning via TKO in just over a minute into the first round. The win also earned McGregor his first "Knockout of the Night" award.
McGregor was expected to face Andy Ogle on 17 August 2013 at UFC Figh Night 26 but Ogle pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Max Holloway. Every round was going in to Conors favour and Max was surviving 3 rounds but Conor could not knock out Holloway and he won by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) .
Conors next fight again ended up how he said , first round knockout. He fought Diego Brandao on 19 July 2014 at UFC Fight Night 46 and finished him easy and smooth in the first round by TKO and wins the award : Performance of the Night.
You can notice how he finishes almost every fight with a left hook, and that is what he said after the fight : "Nobody can take that left hook" .
His next fight also didnt last long. He fought Dustin Poirier on 27 September 2014 at UFC 178 and finished him by TKO. This marked Poirier's first UFC loss via KO/TKO and earned McGregor his second straight "Performance of the Night" award.
Conors next fight was vs Denis Siver on 18 January 2015 at UFC Fight Night 59. Conor definently won the first round and then finished him by TKO in second round, first with powerful shots then in fullmount position with strong elbows and won the award : Performance of the night.
After the fight Conor jumped in front of Jose Aldo ( the champion in featherweight division) and screamed on him : You are mine!!
And then it was obvious that the next fight will be arranged between them.
At the press-conference Conor said to him : "You are going to die" in Brazilian.
But then suddenly Jose Aldo pulled out at the title bout for that fight due to injury so he is not gonna be able to compete and as a result Dana White brought in a substitute for Conor McGregor which is Chad Mendez.
The fight vs Chad Mendez on 11 July 2015 at UFC 189 went well for Conor in the beginning, but then Chad took him down with his great wrestling tehnique and threw some hard elbows at Conor.
In the second round Chad took him down again and landed few strong elbow shots, but Conor manages to get back on his feet and finishes Chad by a TKO and becomes the new interim featherweight champion of the world and wins the award : Performance of the Night.
On 12 December 2015, at UFC 194, McGregor defeated Aldo by first-round knockout to become the UFC Undisputed Featherweight Champion and the first Irish-born champion in UFC history. The fight lasted 13 seconds, the fastest finish in any UFC title fight .
McGregor was expected to face Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC Lightweight Championship on 5 March 2016 at UFC 196 in an attempt to become the first UFC dual-weight champion. However, it was announced on 23 February that dos Anjos withdrew from the fight after breaking his foot. McGregor instead made his welterweight debut against Nate Diaz where Diaz won via submission in the second round, marking McGregor's first defeat in the UFC. Both competitors were awarded "Fight of the Night" bonuses.
A rematch with Diaz was scheduled for July 9 at UFC 200However, on April 19, the UFC announced that McGregor had been pulled from the event after failing to fulfill media obligations related to the fight. In turn, the fight with McGregor was rescheduled and took place the following month, contested again at welterweight, at UFC 202 McGregor won the rematch via majority decision (48-47, 47-47, 48-47).The bout was once again awarded "Fight of the Night" honors. The event broke the record previously held by UFC 100 for highest selling pay-per-view in UFC history with 1,650,000 buys.
On September 27, it was officially announced that McGregor's next bout would be against Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship on November 12 at UFC 205 McGregor defeated Alvarez by second-round knockout to win the UFC Lightweight Championship and become the first simultaneous two-division champion in UFC history.
On November 26, due to his inactivity in the division, it was initially announced that McGregor vacated the Featherweight Championship, therefore promoting José Aldo to undisputed champion but further reports say that McGregor was actually stripped of the title as confirmed by his coach.
