Picture of the day - Toyota Yaris WRC

Toyota World Rally Team had a long break from 1999 to 2017 with some strange decisions in the preparation of their newest WRC car - Yaris WRC. They prepared the whole car in their bases in Germany, tested it for a year and BOOM - suddenly they decided it's not good and gave it to the Tommi Makinen Racing to build the car from the scratch.

I remember how we laughed at that idea at rally forum but they proved themselves very quick because in their second rally they won - in Sweden 2017. I really couldn't believe.

And it's good that we don't have dominating team anymore, such as VW, who ruled for four years, and Citroen before that.

But something doesn't change (still): driver who dominates and that's five times champ Ogier.
He tested Yaris WRC before he signed for M-Sport at the end of 2016 and said the car is not good.

He won 2017 championship, but what will be this season, it's hard to predict.

Can Toyota grab something this year, maybe, because they have a strong line up with Ott Tanak who graduated at M-Sport beside Ogier.
Time will tell...
