MERSEYSIDE DERBY
Jurgen Klopp and Sam Allardyce will both head into Sunday’s Merseyside derby full of confidence as Liverpool host Everton at Anfield.
Liverpool are on a superb run of form having scored 15 goals in their last three games in all competitions, but still trail Premier League leaders Manchester City by 14 points.
Everton initially looked to be heading for a relegation battle after a terrible start to the season following a summer spending spree, but the Toffees have won their last two League games without conceding a goal to quickly climb to 10th in the table.
Relegation specialist Sam Allardyce has been drafted in at Goodison Park, and the former England boss is the last manager to claim an away win at Anfield having shocked Liverpool with Crystal Palace last season.
Team News
Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno is doubtful for the derby after sustaining an injury in Wednesday’s 7-0 Champions League win over Spartak Moscow.
Allardyce is unlikely to switch from the Everton XI which has beaten West Ham 4-0 and Huddersfield 2-0, though Michael Keane is in contention to start.
