Pep Guardiola: Nothing has changed from Manchester City this season
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, admits his team's condition this season is almost the same as last season. Manchester City will travel to Tottenham Hotspur headquarters on Sunday at 22.30 WIB.
"It's very much the same as last season when we played against Wolves without a friendly. You all ask 'how is the team', I said 'I don't know'," Guardiola said, quoted from the club's official website.
Guardiola added, the mentality of his players will have an important role when wading through the start of the season.
Guardiola understands that his team is still far from the best and thinks that is something normal.
"That's why the mentality and being strong in the head will be more important, we know we are still far from our best condition. This is normal," said Guardiola.
Then Guardiola reflected on last season where Manchester City had stumbled at the beginning of the season but was able to rise and eventually win the competition.
The Spanish coach thinks his team must be able to adapt and continue to develop to do their best.
"That's why we were successful last season, we didn't cry at the start, we agreed we have to be better, what we can do to improve and then we won and for about three or four months we were unbeaten.
"That's why we won the Premier League and arrived at the final stages of all competitions. The reality is what it is, adapt and move forward," said Guardiola.
