[Physical Growing of kids]: Practical advices from @lokkie :)

in #sport7 years ago

Hello my dear friends :) I want to share the experience of the physical education of children. The results, in my opinion, achieved excellent - the son (7 years old) and the daughter (4 years) are mobile, athletic, look great and are ill exceptionally rarely.

What did I do for this? Nothing outstanding.

  • healthy nutrition (grandmother and grandfather, btw, spoil kids, but at home there are no junk-food or sweets);
  • long walks without excessive control ("Put on a hat and scarf!", "Do not go there!", "Do not climb here!", etc.);
  • physical activity - strength exercises.

The last point is discussed in more detail.

Harmonious physical growth

  • Force. Strength exercises: pull-ups, push-ups, squats, etc.
  • Endurance. You can grow it by performing - surprise! - exercise for endurance (aerobic): long running, jumping rope, swimming.
  • Flexibility. Stretching - and not only and not necessarily for splits - to help :)

Important nuance: children do not need added weight. Dumbbells aside. Only own weight.

Oh, it's complicated. Let him run around the yard

I perfectly understand the laziness of those who are not friends with the sport. This is how much it is necessary to read the literature, and even decisions to take - today we do it, and tomorrow that. And what if something will be wrong: a poor child, it's fragile, crumbling, oh my God :)

Perhaps for someone I will become a captain Obviousness, but still I will say: the child is not sugar, does not melt from squats.

The theme of my mother's experiences is extensive, begins with "not letting the child freeze" and "not letting the child get hungry." Nature took care of the survival of babies, instilling instinctive care in the mother's brain. The main thing is that it does not degenerate into a hyperguardianship, which turns out not to benefit the baby.

I cant find the proofs, but somewhere read that physical growth contributes to the mental. What has its logic - in a healthy body everything is fine, including a brain.

Okey, ok. What should I do to start?

All these complex combinations from adult's training arent necessary for children. There are several basic strength exercises that involve many muscle groups.

  • Pull-ups
  • Push ups
  • Squats
  • Leg Rises
  • Bridge

I took this system from the book "Convict Conditioning: How to burst free of all weakness". You can buy it, or you can download it somewhere. Damned highly recommend, minimalist and versatile - for moms and dads too.

Each exercise has 10 levels of difficulty - from the slightest push ups from the wall to hellishly difficult push-ups on one hand. Present the child with the system as a game, where you need to pump the hero (yourself) through the levels. My son is madly enraged by it, yesterday he amazed me - began to read this book, although there was no need to read it before.

Add running, stretching with elements of competition and gaming.

"Well, can you overtake ur mother?"
"And I'll do more, we argue?"
"Anyone who reaches out to the 3rd rung on the stairs will get a candy sticker!"

And so on.

Conclusion

With the value of physical education, probably, no one will argue. Once you should sit down and figure out how it is convenient for you to include exercises in the daily routine. The ultimate goal - to instill in children love and habit of physical activity.
