Johann Zarco wearing the 2017 YZR-M1 says that the bike is not as good as it used last season.
Johann Zarco last season using the 2016 YZR-M1 and managed to appear more slick of the two Movistar Yamaha racers who use the 2017 version.
Johann Zarco never dismissed the opinion of Valentino Rossi who said that 2017 motor is not as good as 2016.

Until some time in Sepang test, the French racer still said that the 2017 and 2016 motor is the same.
Finally, Zarco has started to feel what ever said Valentino Rossi.
Especially towards the end of this Sepang test.
"Yes, now that motorcycle (YZR-M1 2016, red) is better for us because it makes my work easier," said Johann Zarco quoted GridOto from Tuttomotoriweb.
If offered a 2018 engine, he is not sure.
"I'm using a 2017 or 2018 engine? I'm not sure," Zarco continued.

Zarco seems to be upset.
If indeed the 2017 motor is not as good as 2016, Johann Zarco could have used his 2016 motor again.
