SCANDAL IN GREECE. PRESIDENT PAOK WAS TURNED INTO THE BRIDGE WITH GUN TO PROTEST GOLA, LEAGUE SUSPENDED!
A gun for justice?
PAOK Thessaloniki's match - AEK Athens was interrupted in the 90th minute. After the referee canceled the goal for 1-0 for the hosts, PAOK president, Ivan Savvidis, ran into the turf with the gun at the belt, who later threatened the judge that his career had come to an end. A gigantic scandal broke out, after which the local authorities decided to suspend the games for an indefinite period. "That's what you're expecting from Clint Eastwood's films rather than after the Greek Premier League match," said Manolo Jimenez, AEK's coach
After several minutes of discussions between the players and the referee it seemed that emotions were calm, but when AEK players prepared to resume the game from the middle of the pitch (which would suggest that the goal was, however, recognized), Ivan Savvidis, PAOK president . One of the richest Russians, a former member of the Duma (Russian parliament) and a close acquaintance of Vladimir Putin, in the 98th minute he stepped on the pitch with certainty and walked towards the arbitrator. At one point the 58-year-old reached for the gun and - as reported by Manolo Jimenez, AEK trainer - approached the judge and told him: "Your career has just come to an end".
"He walked past me, but I had no idea he had a gun. It was only later that I saw him reaching for it. He threatened the judge, standing right in front of me. I am shocked. I do not understand it completely. This is surreal for me. They cancel the goal for your team, and suddenly the club's president and directors enter the pitch to threaten the referee. You expect such things rather from Clint Eastwood's films, not after the Greek league match,"said Jimenez.
The Spanish trainer reported the course of events in the radio stations Radio MARCA or Cadena SER. - Suddenly a guest entered the turf, they tell him that he is the president of PAOK. He goes before everyone, goes to the referee, then to our bench and threatens everyone. It was something completely crazy - explained the shocked trainer. The Spaniard also noted that Savvidis had a gun permit, and if you have it in Greece, you can theoretically carry it with you. In the end, the president of the team from Salonika, who was born in Georgia, was led out of the turf by the police.
