Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has chosen his Arsenal shirt number - and fans will be delighted
The transfer window is set to close tomorrow night and Arsenal are still trying to finalise a move for Borussia Dortmind striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
While the details are still being hashed out between the two clubs over the fee and whether or not Olivier Giroud will go the other way on loan, Aubameyang has already begun to plan for his future as a Gunner, with the Gabon international reportedly informing the club that he wants to take on Thierry Henry's number 14 shirt.
According to our colleagues at the Birmingham Mail, they have been reports that Aubameyang is planning to take the number vacated by Theo Walcott following his move to Everton earlier this month.
With Arsenal's only confirmed major signing of January so far, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, taking the number seven shirt following Alexis Sanchez's departure, there is space for Aubameyang to take on the iconic number at his new club.
Fans will be delighted at the news, with some even going out and getting "Aubameyang 14" on the back of their shirts already, without a deal even being confirmed.
But things are moving closer towards a confirmation as we near the transfer deadline, with the Gunners said to be willing to pay a club record fee for the 28-year-old.
