Asian Games 2018: Sushil Kumar suffers shock defeat in wrestling

In one of the biggest problems, twice Olympic medal winner Sushil Kumar was threatened by Adam Batirov of Bahrain in the 74kg category, as the campaign of Indian wrestling team in the 18th Asian Games began on Sunday on the sour note.

Sushil beat Batirov 3-5.

After the first period, Sushil defeated 2-1 but Bahraini made a strong comeback to silence Indian fans.

London Olympics silver medalist made two opportunities to score in the second period, but Ballarov did not miss his prospects, while he could not be changed. He defeated 3-2 and then out of the Indian out for the win.

Sushil was not out of competition yet and if Batirov makes the final, then the Indian will get a chance to win a bronze medal through repetition.

In the meantime, Sandeep Tomar registered a 128-run victory against Turkmenistan's System Najrova and entered the quarter-finals of men's 57 kg freestyle event.
