Colossal showdown at stadium
This saturday night expierience is going to be almost orgasmic ( ; !
(...as Broken Matt would put it.)
and that's because of huge KSW Colloseum event at PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
11 exciting fights - variety of styles and emotions - from charming and furious girls to record 5 time world strongest man.
From olympic medalist in wrestling to giant bodybuilder who has never trained for MMA.
Plenty of intriguing match-ups on a biggest Mixed Martial Arts event in history(second only to 2002 Pride's event) with around 57 000 people at attendance.
Besides epic opening ceremony which you Can always expect from KSW
that's all going to start with
126 lbs: Ariane Lipski (MMA 8-3-0) vs. Diana Belbiţă (MMA 8-2-0)
Those are both beautiful girls which knows their craft.
Especially Ariane in her recent fights showed how explosive she Can be, putting out great show and KO'ing her opponents.
My prediction: Lipski by KO
185 lbs: Damian Janikowski (MMA 0-0-0) vs. Julio Gallegos (MMA 8-7-0)
Then we've got MMA debut of olympic medalist wrestler Damian Janikowski.
I would like to see old school KSW "style vs style" match with Janikowski taking on some competitor who had reached mastery in other background style.
Here Janikowski is facing experienced and well-rounded opponent and that's going to be difficult as for debut, although
Janikowski had some wins in amateur MMA bouts back when he was still full-time wrestler, and he is considered to be talented striker, training with one of the best teams in Poland.
All in all I expect to see Janikowski utilizing different techniques, and prove that he has potential to became big star of MMA.
My prediction: Gallegos by decision
146 lbs: Marcin Wrzosek (MMA 12-3-0) vs. Kleber Koike Erbst (MMA 21-4-1)
Here we Can expect a showstealer, and really unpredictable fight. Current champion electrifyng striker is taking on the artist of ground game, the master of what he calls bonzai jiu-jitsu who lost just 1 out of his last 18 professional fights.
My prediction: Erbst by submission
205 lbs: Łukasz Jurkowski (MMA 15-10-0) vs. R. Sokoudjou (MMA 17-16-0)
When it comes to this event I'm really looking forward to Jurkowski's entrance. He is going to come up with "Sen o Warszawie" song which was adopted by Legia fans as their anthem.
Him being from Warsaw, fan of local football team(working there as announcer) for sure is going to get huge crowd participation and support.
When it comes to fight - Sokoudjou is a big challenge to competitor who is coming from retirement like Jurkowski, but I'll hope at least for a few minutes of intense fight.
My prediction: Sokoudjou by referee stoppage/TKO
154 lbs: Mateusz Gamrot (MMA 12-0-0) vs. Norman Parke (MMA 23-5-1)
When it comes to pure sport match-up - here is one of the most interesting on that card. Current champion "Gamer" Gamrot with perfect record(as fat as I know he had never even lost single round) will be tested be UFC veteran Norman Parke. I hope Parke will be prove that he is deserving contender, and we'll see competitive contest.
My prediction: Gamrot by decision
265 lbs: Michał Andryszak (MMA 18-6-0 1NC) vs. Michał Kita (MMA 17-8-0)
Andryszak who is "not paid by the hours" - recently smashing opponent after opponent in ACB in first rounds vs "The Massacre" Kita - very experienced and well-rounded fighter.
My prediction: Kita by decision
205 lbs: Tomasz Narkun (MMA 13-2-0) vs. Marcin Wójcik (MMA 10-4-0)
Another title fight between champion - who's biggest strenght is ground game, although he won his last 3 fights be TKO's/KO's and very deserving contender with 8 fights winning streak.
My prediction: Wójcik by decision
265 lbs: Popek Monster (MMA 2-2-0) vs. Robert Burneika (MMA 2-0-0)
I am almost feel sorry for Robert "Hardkorowy Koksu". He is very likable guy, very entertaining, and freakish body-builder, but he is not preparing any techniques for this fight.
That may worked in his previous MMA fights, but with Popek who has more experience and is actually training with good team we may actually see "Koksu" being "choked be his own biceps" as Popek put it.
I hope that this fight will deliver emotions because they will both rise to the occasion, not because they will both show their weaknesses.
My prediction: Popek by TKO/doctor stoppage
265 lbs: Marcin Różalski (MMA 6-4-0) vs. Fernando Rodrigues Jr. (MMA 11-2-0)
This one may really deliver because both Różal and Santo Forte like to fight in stand-up, and trade punches. It may get bloody. Hope to see Różal at the top of his game in face of that opponent.
My prediction: Rodrigues Jr. by KO
265 lbs: Mariusz Pudzianowski (MMA 10-5-0) vs. Tyberiusz Kowalczyk (MMA 3-0-0)
This may be a biggest mismatch on the card. Pudzian had declared that he will make Kowalczyk go the distance - bringing Kowalczyk to exhaustion and suffering like during Crucifix Hold - one of competitions in strong man.
I would prefer that scenario over fast KO from either side(and both sides are perfectly capable of providing it).
My prediction: Pudzianowski by TKO
181 lbs: Borys Mańkowski (MMA 19-5-1) vs. Mamed Khalidov (MMA 33-4-2)
This one is worth being main event - two champions - very promising "Tasmanian Devil" Mańkowski and exceptional, sensational Chalidow.
The chance of a lifetime for Mańkowski, but probably he could consider as achievement just bringing the fight to the best KSW fighter who recently smashed Luke Barnatt in just 21 seconds, and isn't used to wait for decisions in his fights.
Prediction: Chalidow by decision
Definitely history is being made by KSW and whole growing MMA industry in Poland, and this is interesting to watch.
