Do you enjoy Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering?
If so, there's a good chance you'll like Splinterlands (formerly Steem Monsters). I've been playing this for only the past week, and as a former Magic and Hearthstone player, I have to admit that it's really enjoyable! It's a little bit different than what you're used to.... Unlike those games there's also an RPG element to it: moving up the ranks, leveling up cards, and such. Super fun! Most of all, you can earn cryptocurrency by playing games this way.
It's really amazing what Steem can provide with its blockchain, that is different from games from the past. I may be leaving something out, but with the blockchain you can do all these things:
- Store your digital collection, send cards to and from your wallet, or trade to someone else's wallet.
- Store in-game crypto, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), move them between various wallets to exchange for ETH, BTC, etc.
- Buy packs with various cryptos.
- Buy and sell cards on the integrated marketplace for DEC.
- Make crypto by leasing out your cards, or lease them from another user if you want to borrow them.
- Enter tournaments where the top finishers can earn DEC.
- Complete quests where the rewards are packs, or DEC.
- View the results of your battles on the blockchain.
- Even join a guild!
