The future of DEC

This year alread saw the glorious introduction of the in-game currency token called Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) in Splinterlands. These tokens can be earned either by winning ranked battles or by converting unused cards in the collection.

So everybody can get a hold of DEC-Tokens just by playing the game. And did I mention that they can be traded for other tokens or sold to other players? I do believe that this way gaming can actually make you some money.

And let's be honest: This is what will eventually drive the demand for DEC. Everybody wants a piece of the cake, especially if it's fun to get it!

But I think this will benefit both the game and the players that were smart enough to invest in the game early (even if it's just the initial 10 bugs and some time).

This is why it is an open secret that farming DEC should be a top priority for every Splinterlandian (also because of the in-game potions). Yet, the real potential of DEC will only show itself when additional features are added to the game that pique the intrest of even more players.

And the two main features I heard about that could be exactly such game-changers are:

1. Guild System:  The developers are working on the implementation of a guild system, which will allow groups of players to work together to earn in-game items and prizes. I think this will be a great feature to enable more social interaction in the game. Who doesn't want to start the game together with a friend and found the mightiest guild in the game?

2. Mobile App  (iOS/Android):  Currently Splinterlands is only available through a web browser. Obviously anybody can already play Splinterlands for instance with the Brave Browser on their phones, but I do think that an app and a specifically designed user interface for mobile devices will not only add to a better user expirence, but will make the game also more accessible to other groups of players
