Searching for Truth is Itself Illusion
According to Sadhguru in his blog site: Searching for truth is itself a big illusion because whatever we term “the truth” is always and everywhere. We don’t have to search for it or seek it. It always is. The only problem right now is you are capable of experiencing life only through the limited dimension that we call “mind”.
If the above is true, then what do we do?
There is never an ANSWER, rather there may be so many answers to this question depending on individual experiences and uniqueness. sk1951 writes: ''In human life, there are as many (verb small t) truths and realities as there are people, because each has a different conception of it. Each of us perceives and projects an image of personal reality, that everyone has to deal with at some level. If you believe something, then it is the truth and real…for you. If you “KNOW” something then your mind is frozen and closed off. There is no right or wrong in personal Spirit because it is your essence, your nature, a world you invent for yourself through “your” personal understandings.
I find my own answer in a deceptively simple mediation practice: Breath Mediation
Meditation in my own lay man view is simply stilling your mind. Sadhguru says: ''if you still the modifications or the activity of the mind, you are there: everything has become one in your consciousness. Meditation has innumerable devices and innumerable methods of working towards a still mind. We may be pursuing many things in our lives, we may be going through the processes that we call achievements in our life, but to go beyond the modifications of the mind is the most fundamental, at the same time, the highest achievement because this releases a human being from what he is seeking, from what is within and what is outside – from everything. He becomes an ultimate possibility if he just stills his mind. ''
Caveat: There are so many meditation practices that you are confused which one to choose. But I tell you from my own experience, any mediation that ask you to imagine or visualize just give more power to MIND which defeat our objective.
Mind play fool on men to prevent them from meditating. The aim is to still the mind. Most meditation practices suggested further engagement of the mind through various imaginations, contemplations or visualization techniques. We use mind to imagine, visualize or contemplate. Mind should be still, not engaged during meditation. And this is the major reason why mediation practices is doom to fail or left the practioner with little or no result to show for their meditation practice. BE STILL
I had practice so many mediation practices but the only one that worked for me is BREATH MEDITATION. The Breath Meditation practice is simply being AWARE OF BREATHS AT THE TIP OF MY NOSE throughout the meditation period.
Note: My MIND always try all sorts of ways and means to distract during Breath Meditation. The distraction may come in different forms such as:
1. Bring up Urgent to-do-lists and emergencies
2. Sweet inner experiences (Audio, Visual, or feelings)
3. Carry away with sleep. Straight posture is the antidote for this. Your spine must be straight otherwise you sleep throughout the meditation period. This is Mind satanic attempt to keep locked in your own mental prison.
4. Bring up wonderful contemplations in the form of Thoughts, Ideas, Philosophies and sometimes holy books phrases that sweetened mind and bring peace.
Caution: do not fall fall any of the distractions. They are all Mind deceptive attempts to distract you from attaining your DIVINE SPIRITUAL FREEDOM. The result we are looking for is not the feelings during the meditation practice. What we are after is the after-effect of Being aware of breaths (Exhale and Inhale) at the tip of your nose (AKA Breath Meditation) during the meditation practice.
My Analysis and Result of Breath Meditation
1. The most Simplest and most Efficient for taming my monkey mind
2. I was at peace despite my present crises: loss of job, wife abandoning with a child to nanny, financial crises. (This was a big surprise to me.)
3. I experience my personal Irony of living. I realized for the first time ever that the divine assistances miraculously flow into my life from various sources beyond my fondest dreams. The wife that abandoned came to spy only discovered that my living standard had improved in so many ramifications, including living standard. Yet could not stay back because there is no solid bases for my survival. But that is IRONY of LIFE. I discovered to my utmost surprise that I live by DIVINE Providence. Where things started falling in place in miraculous coincidences. Many people including me would not believe this. But that is my personal reality. I believe this is a dividend of flowing with the rhythm of life made possible by practice of BREATH MEDITATION..
4. I get inspirations from spiritual and the mundane without preferences.
5. Divinely guided coincidences come my ways. That is the secret of my present existences.
6. Realized the futility of personal struggling without success. Struggling is fighting. Dance to the rhythms of life is just dancing not struggling. The key is to: find your love in every situation. it is there just look for it. Then flow with the love not hate. What you hate, hate you. Flow with your love. So open your heart to all situations, for the same situation to welcome you and show you the goodies in each situations. If you fight some situations they might fight back to backfire due to karma.
My Secrete Let-out
I start dancing to the rhythms of life as it dishes-out many crises with realization that wherever condition or circumstances are holy. Do not kook or search for it for you may never find it. Just Breathe Meditate (JBM). JBM will guide you to right circumstances necessary for your spiritual evolution. JBM silent the mind to let your divines providence to flow through.
