Marie Catherine Laveau was Voodoo Queen of New Orleans in the 1800s and is buried in St Louis cemetery. Voodoo is as intrinsic to New Orleans culture as Mardi Gras, jazz and the beignet pastry.

Louisiana Voodoo is not witchcraft or used for evil purposes. It’s a set of spiritual folkways developed from the traditions of the African diaspora.
