As A Beginner, It Is Not Easy To Meditate
You have decided to take a trip up in your mind so that you can to focus and develop spiritually. That’s great! However, when you start the meditation sessions, the expectation is not always the result. A moment of peace, happiness and feeling calm suddenly turns into an inability to meditate. Upon realizing the difficulty, it is easier to quit than finding the concentration.
Everyone who started to meditate went through this during the commencing stage – scenarios that were deeply buried in the mind begin to come out. We all have gone through unhappiness, hatred, sadness, and loneliness and all these will tend to show up when you decide to ‘shut down’ and try to help your mind concentrate.
With such messed up situations, it is not the best thing to cope with since they are all live and fresh in your mind.
You are thinking of turning away
Now that you don’t feel right about it, sadness slowly begins to take over. If you are not careful, it will start to reflect on your daily life and make everything complicated. That is when your partner or friend starts to ask questions about your overall wellbeing. With your life turning out to be a confusion, the inner dialogue in your head will be “what is the point of meditating if your emotions are all over?”
At this point, you are already facing a hard time meditating, people around you are asking questions that you don’t want to answer so, everything is not falling into place as intended. Don’t worry; this won’t be long.
The masters of this ‘game’ will tell you that consciousness involves pain. If there were a way out of the pain when searching for your soul, people would have already done it. You are not figuring out some light figures; it’s about making the dark a conscious matter.
So, if you thought that you could escape the awkward moments, the opposite is the truth – you have to witness them since it is a phase that you have to go through. To achieve the sweetness of peace, you need to go through the dark web of noxious emotions since it is part of the journey. Go through it, bit by bit and the process will be easier for you.
Tips to help you go through the preliminary phase
As you pursue, here are a few tips to help:
• Take time to read some self-help materials. Something that talks about mental health or spirituality is useful if you do it simultaneously. You will have a better understanding of the inward self, and its relation with outside world.
• Birds of the same feather flock together. Try to keep a company of like-minded individuals who will help you meditate and share the experiences. That way, you will realize that what you are going through is part of the journey.
• Meditation enthusiasts advice that spiritual candidates should meditate in isolation for about a month or so. If that seems like too long, take long hours of the day to do it or a week off. If you are in the company of fellow meditators, that’s much better.
• Have a list of the things that you are exploring. That way, you will be able to find solutions that will govern the ability to overcome suffering.
• Don’t judge yourself in the quest of being honest with what you are going through. Just look at what you are going through and ask yourself about the stop measures you are going to deploy.
• If it becomes challenging to control, seek the help of a healer. He or she will help you calm down the turbulence and give you a guide towards working it out.
