The Role of a Master in One’s Spiritual Search

The 'Guru or a knower' is one who takes the responsibility of 'Shishya or a seeker ' towards his/her inward journey. The journey that reveals the soul purpose and thereby fill them with immense pleasure and contentment.

The Guru or Master is one who has achieved perfection, he is God illuminated and leads every soul under his guidance towards the path of truth. He achieves self-mastery by following lifestyle discipline and practicing truth above every other emotion in materialistic life. He becomes the 'knower' and can recognize the misery and sufferings of various souls and uplift them.

When there is a spiritual desire, God helps with books and teachers to inspire further, and when that desire is stronger, he sends a 'Guru' to teach you how to know him. The Guru takes the complete responsibility of his disciples and leads them to the path of ultimate truth.

The Guru describes a seeker as an onion, layers, and layers of 'Sanskars' on the soul over many journeys on the Earth, he helps the seeker to shed off all these layers one by one, ultimately let him recognize the omnipresent soul and its purpose. In this way he let the seeker go away from the narrow bodily feeling of himself and shall feel the greatness of Soul which is all pervading in the universe.
