Wearing spirituality as a mask
In my personal opinion, spirituality is not an aspect in your life that u come to for 15 min of meditation before u go to sleep, it is more like a cover page for our lives, it is a theme that covers our story board in this life...when it becomes so, one will start to reap what he/ she sowed, one starts to calm down, look beyond bare events, think more deeply and thoroughly, analyze all the time, mindful of all doings...likewise the person starts to flourish...
On the contrary...those who wear spirituality as a mask for their ego, they give it one 10- min session of meditation at the end of each day... believe they got englightened just by doing so...irritates everyone one with being vegan, calm and spiritual, brag all the time about doing yoga and buy all the gear needed to do so...
Over the time, all prophets and masters, not anyone of them called himself a spiritualist, they were humble, realised that their mission is to grow their consciousness while serving others and the planet...they never practicied feng shui yet they lived in simole homes...which was blessed by their presence...
You my friend, if the heart got black stains no practice can clean it...unless there is a well from inside...
Hello @algracious, spirituality is so popular today and has ended up on the 'to do' list of all the acquirers and go~getters with their colour coordinated portfolios and meditation mats. It's quite a phenomena to observe really, when you consider the original idea of a lone person devoted to living in cave, far from the village etc. Now we have websites, chat groups, meet ups where we can chant and hold each others hand towards getting somewhere called enlightenment or wholeness or becoming ascended etc.
While some people get upset and wound~up by this...others just simply watch...and recognize oneness in all of its differing plays and appearances. After all; if all there is is oneness, then who, and what are you still searching for?
It certainly is fun to watch all this unfold and expand out into itself in the many different ways, of course it would.
All the best to you,

Hello Phi...thanks for dropping those great lines...dont get me wrong, im all in for spirituality, just highlighting not making it a fuel to fire up ego, rather than seeing it for what it is...which is a path to reach the oneness. Which is a beauitful word u used right there.
The problem is when one doesnt know that he/she is wearing spirituality as a mask for their ego...in the great budhist story when a man went to a monk asking for wisdom, whenever the monk explains a concept or a law, the guy was like “oh i know that” “that must be a common sense” there when the monk offered the guy a cup of tea to which he agreed...and then the monk kept pouring the tea until the cup was full and it started to pour on the floor, the guy went “mr. monk, u r pouring the tea” to which the monk replied “how would u taste my tea until u empty ur cup”
This is what im talking about, to me, being on the spiritual path means always learning, be humble, wondering all the time about the sun, the earth, how we eat, how we sleep etc...a continuous learning curve goes up day by day...hope i made it clear bro 😄
