The Cost of Energy: Spiritual Business
Breath is our greatest and most abundant resource.
Energy is a loaded term, but implicitly, we understand what it is. It is drive, it is a force, a motivation, cultivation.
Energy is life.
So it would make sense that cultivating energy for free would be ideal, yet we miss so many opportunities to do so.
For example, go ahead and take a deep breath.
Did you do it?
Deep breathing is perhaps the number 1 way to gather energy. Oxygen enters your lungs, is redistributed throughout your body, including your lungs, which makes your lungs more active in receiving oxygen, generating a cycle of extracting lung Qi.
Visualization is also a catalyst for energy. What you imagine has emotional implications, and emotions can be a catalyst for hormone and neurotransmitter production. Production of these naturally occurring resources (ideally) helps balance the body and mind.
And all you had to do was use your imagination...
These example practices not only stimulate energy production but practicing enough creates a habit. In a way, turning holistic practices such as these into an automatic process is similar to passive income.
If you want to make good money, and still be free to explore the world, passive income is going to be a key player in your lifestyle.

Seldom, however, do people realize that such things cost energy. To take a deep breath, one must initiate the act. Doing activities more consciously requires more energy, and so it's no wonder why people fail even to start!
Now, I'm no math genius...yet, but here's the thing.
Suppose that breathing unconsciously gives you an energy value of 1.5E, a wildly vague estimate absolutely essential to us. And let's say the cost to initiate the breath is 1E. It's like every time you breathe, you are receiving energy for free regardless of how small the amount, and that's great!
But let's say then, dealing with a stressful situation cost you 100E, and suddenly the situation itself is causing a 1E income rate because of shallow breathing. Natural breathing is no longer the free source that it had been.
Like various currencies in a market, the cost and worth of a single breath changes about the activity within and outside of an entity.
This is where mindful activities come into play.
To first start a business, it may cost you more, to begin with, but ideally, it leads to a fruitful business and a profit that covers the cost of the initial investment.
This is the same principle when it comes to mindfulness practices just as those mentioned earlier.
Another great way to invest in your breath has plants in your home! Check out these manageable plants that will produce more oxygen within your home.
Using the same example of breathing, if one starts to practice mindful breathing, the ratios begin to look something like 3:7 - cost: profit. And the more you automate the process, the less the price, and the more you make per breath.
Not only is this a useful explicit way to understand the value of mindful practices, but it's also a reflection on the natural occurrence of 'business and economy' found in nature.
Much love!

breath is the action, but oxygen is the source of energy. A lot of things affects our energy level including activities, environment and food.
