Words of Wisdom
SUPPRESSION which roots from SHAME is what leads to AGGRESSION.
Alot of us were brought up in oppressive cultures and religions that taught us to be ashamed of key parts of ourselves. Our minds, our bodies, our sexualities, our desires, our desires.
When a child is told over and over how their behavior is shameful or disgusting they begin to hate themselves and suppress their true nature to please the world and soon we have dysfunctional unhappy adults living secret lives or punishing themselves into lives they don't really desire because it's what they were told is NORMAL and in worst case scenarios we get people who commit crimes to release their suppressed desires or addictions covered up in shameful secrets and double lives.
All this is caused by SHAME and GUILT MINDSETS. What we suppress in ourselves never goes away. We can cover it up with religious works or blame it on demons or call it wrong, etc, but alot of it is just who we are.
There is a big difference between hurting others and being your full self. Alot of things people have been told are sinful or shameful are not and are simply not understood by the cultures they come from and the religious doctrines they were taught to buy into.
And when you suppress yourself you become ANGRY and repressed and you begin to hate others and judge those who seem to have the freedom you have denied yourself.
That's how shame works. It's akin to the STOCKHOLM SYNDROME where the person captured by SHAME and GUILT becomes attached to them and thinks they are actually protecting him/her when they have actually robbed the person of their freedom.
The only thing that overcomes shame is ruthless and fierce consuming LOVE FOR ONESELF. SELF LOVE.
When one finally accepts themselves so fully that nothing can keep them hidden or ashamed anymore. When love illuminates the soul the prison doors are flung wide open and a person can then begin to uncage the parts of themselves they were taught to hate.
Anger and frustration begin to fall away and the release that only liberty brings set in. Judgements fall off and condemnation for self and others disappear. Love changes everything. 💖
