Questa è l'immagine spettacolare della regione di formazione stellare nella Nebulosa di Orione è stata ottenuta dalla camera infrarossi HAWK-1.
La distanza dalla terra è di circa 1 270 a.l. (anni luce) ed è una delle nebulose più brillanti del cielo notturno.
