I never knew people were transferred in such a manner ... like cargo, I would say ... but yes, it's definitively safer than climbing a rope ladder in high waves! The pilots have to climb ladders regularly ... the biggest risk of being a pilot.

    Yes, in fact when I climbed with the rope ladder I was very nervous.
