La vinotinto del basket al mundial de China
Con una victoria 84 por 73, en el Parque Miranda, la vinotinto del basket aseguró virtualmente su cupo al mundial de las disciplina pues sólo le falta conseguir el triunfo frente al modesto equipo de Islas Vírgenes , en Santo Tomás, para tener formalmente asegurada su invitación al evento mundialista.

Loa mejores por la selección de Venezuela resultaron los hermanos Vargas, Greegory y José, con 13 y 15 puntos anotadados, respectivamente, Lewis Padrón encestó 14 tantos, Jhorman Zamora aportó 12 unidades lo mismo que Gregory Echenique 12 puntos y Heissler Guillén aportó 8 asistencias.
Venezuela ahora lidera la clasificación pre-mundialista del grupo F con récord de 8 victorias y sólo una derrota y ahora únicamente necesita derrotar al modesto conjunto de Islas Vírgenes , que marcha en la cola de clasificación, el día lunes 03 cuando visite al equipo caribeño , en Santo Tomás para sellar definitivamente su pase a China 2019.
