Mi traducción del inglés al Español.

Mi querida Irene:

Espero que estés bien al recibir esta carta.

Lo primero que quiero decirte es que mi padre estuvo en el hospital durante diez días. Estaba muy enfermo y resultó ser una neumonía. ¡Qué susto! Pero por fin ya está en casa, (gracias a Dios).

Sé que podría haberte respondido antes, pero todos estos problemas me mantuvieron muy ocupado. Así que esa es la razón por la cual no lo hice antes.

En la foto que me envías, se ve el estilo de pelo de LYDA. Pero te digo que prefiero a las chicas con pelo largo. No me importa el estilo. (Esto es lo que yo pienso).

Sin embargo, me gustas.

Si puedes estudiar inglés, no pierdas el tiempo. Chica. Hazlo. En general es mejor el inglés y después el francés.

Pero el español ..., olvídalo. Es tan difícil para ti como Holandés para mí.

Tengo algunos exámenes pronto. Por ejemplo

en abril. Iré a Reus (Tarragona) Para intentar pasar uno. Y al final de junio y el primero de julio dos más. En Zaragoza y después en Granada (ciudades). Todos ellos son exámenes públicos para ser un profesional.

En cuanto a la respuesta que te pregunté, tenías razón, ya que sólo quería saber si estabas enamorada. Cada persona se ama, incluso sin saberlo.

Ayer fue el día de San Valentín en España. Me sentí bastante solo. Sabes que todo el mundo está buscando amor, y siento ganas de amar a una chica. Pero siempre me llega el mismo problema. No tengo tiempo para buscar amor o para divertirme. De cualquier manera estoy bien así por ahora.

Voy a tratar de explicarte sobre mi inglés. Mi mejor amigo es el diccionario excepto en la última carta, e incluso en ésta también, que está siendo revisada por Julio. (Es de Madrid y es un buen amigo). Terminará su servicio Militar en marzo. Yo no.

Cuanto más aprendo el inglés, más me olvido del francés. Nunca estudio francés ya.

Cambiando de tema,

Quiero preguntarte algo.

¿Cuándo tienes vacaciones?

(Porque tal vez, va a ser imposible para mí ir a Carihuela este verano y pensé que podría pasar por tu país durante unos días). ¿Entiendes ahora?

Quiero verte otra vez. Pero yo no sé ni dónde ni cuándo. Entonces, si estás de vacaciones y yo también, es probable que vaya a encontrarte allí. (Esta es la otra manera).

Ahora aquí en Madrid, hace mucho frío. Es muy frio. Pero no hay nieve en todas las calles. Está lloviendo solo.

Bueno, creo que por ahora, estoy terminando la carta.

Soy 16 días más joven que tú. Por eso, eres una vieja. (Soy un hombre muy joven). ¿Estás de acuerdo conmigo?

Muy dear Irene:

I hope you’re right when receiving this letter.

The first thing I want to tell you is, that my father was in the hospital during ten days. He was very ill, and it turned out to be pneumonia. Mind you ¡What a scare! But he’s at last at house, (thank god), already.

I know I could answer you before, but all this problems kept me very busy. So, that is the reason, by WHICH I didn’t do it sooner.

In the picture you send me, it’s visible the LYDA’s hair style. But I go on telling you I prefer girls with long hair. I don’t care about the style. (This is the way I think).

How-ever I like you.

If you can study English, don’t lose any time. Girl. Do it. Over all is better English and after French.

But spanish…, forget it. Is as difficult for you as Holland is for me.

I’ve some tests soon. For example

About the answer I asked you, you were wright, as I only wanted to know whether you were in love. Every persons loves each other, even without knowing.

Yesterday was Sant Valentine’s day in Spain. I felt quite along. You know everybody is looking for love, and I feel like loving a girl. But always the same problem arrives to me. I’ve no time to look for love or to enjoy myself. Any way I’m ok by this way for now.

I will try to splain you about my English. My best friend is the diccionary except in the last letter, and even in this one too, that are being revised by Julio. (He’s from Madrid, and he’s a good friend). He finish your service Militer in March. I don’t.

The more I learn English, the more I forget french. I never study French already.

When are you having Holidays?

(Because Maybe, it’s going to be impossible for me to go to Carihuela this summer and I thought I could go over your country for a few days). Do you understand now?

I want to meet you egain. But I know nor where neither when. Then, if you are in holidays and I am too,I’m likely to go and meet you there. (this is the other way).

Now Here in Madrid, it is very cold. It’s so cold. But there isn’t snow, laying on all the streets. It’s raining only.

Well I think for this time, I’m finishing the letter.

I am 16 days younger than you are. For that, you’re an old-girl. (I’m a very young man). Do you agree me?
