Fue por muchos años el edificio más alto del mundo, estoy hablando del Empire State de Nueva York EEUU. Fue inaugurado en el año 1931 y durante cuarenta años llevo ese título hasta que fueron construidas las torres gemelas del World Trade Center.
Los últimos pisos y su cúpula se iluminan de diferentes colores para conmemorar diferentes eventos importantes, como por ejemplo, fechas patrias, eventos deportivos, muertes de personajes importantes etc.
Es una de las edificaciones favoritas estadounidenses y un símbolo de la ciudad de Nueva York.
