• Hola, internet. Vengo a manifestarles mi existencia de la manera más políticamente correcta que lo he hecho. Me llamo Saúl y tengo 18 años. Soy venezolano. Nací un 19 de febrero del 1999, en una localidad de Ciudad Guayana, llamada San Felix. He dado más vueltas que un pollo en brasas. Me gustan las matemáticas y culturizarme. A veces, cuando estoy aburrido, busco demostraciones de teoremas. Medio toco guitarra, pero no me pidan algo que no sea la escala mayor de do. 

 Hello, internet. I come to manifest my existence in the most politically correct way that I have done it. My name is Saúl and I am 18 years old. I'm Venezuelan. I was born on February 19, 1999, in a location in Ciudad Guayana, called San Felix. I've done more laps than a chicken in embers. I like mathematics and making culture. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I look for theorem proofs. I play guitar, but do not ask me for anything other than the major scale of C. 

También escucho un promedio de 3,5 horas diarias de música, y leo libros interesantes cuando puedo. Últimamente también he intentado apreciar el cine. Sin embargo no es más que una mera pretención. De todas formas les recomiendo encarecidamente intentarlo.

 I also listen to an daily average of 3.5 music hours, and I read interesting books when I can. Lately I've also tried to appreciate cinema. However, it is nothing more than a mere pretention. Anyway, I strongly recommend trying. 

Curso tercer semstre de ingeniería industrial. Es una rama de la ingeniería que, en resumen, se encarga de hacer las cosas al estilo Daft Punk (HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER). Su principal sustento teórico son distintos tipos de principios científicos y administrativos. Me gusta pensar que puede serme de utilidad para ayudar en la medida de lo posible a reconstruir un poco el país donde vivo. Aunque no me aferro verdaderamente a ningún otro plan que no sea el de lograr mi independencia personal en todos los ámbitos posibles. Quizás esto sea lo más ambicioso que he dicho en toda mi vida.

 I course third semester of industrial engineering. It  is a branch of engineering that, in short, is responsible for doing things in a Daft Punk's style (HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER). Its main theoretical sustenance are different types of scientific and administrative principles. I like to think that it can be useful for me to help as much as possible to rebuild a bit the country where I live. Although I do not really cling to any other plan other than to achieve my personal independence in all possible areas. Maybe this is the most ambitious thing I've said in my entire life. 

Creo que no hablo verdaderamente de mi mismo hasta que no presumo haber vivido gran parte de mi vida en Ciudad Bolívar, la capital del Estado donde resido. Lo que recuerdo de ella no ha sido menos que mi concepto personal de realismo mágico. 

 I  think I do not really talk about myself until I do not presume having lived a large part of my life in Ciudad Bolívar, the capital of the state where I live. What I remember of it has been no less than my personal concept of magical realism. 

Aunque no me sé el nombre de muchas calles, ni estoy demasiado enterado de la movida local en la actualidad, una de mis fantasías es manejar un muscle car allí, escuchando Souvlaki de Slowdive, mientras recorro los sitios donde viví. Aproximadamente estuve 12 años en haciendo mi vida allí, pero ella estará en mi por siempre. Creo que esto se debe a que muchos de mis mejores recuerdos de la infancia son con mi familia paterna, la cual está literalmente esparcida por toda la ciudad.

 Although I do not know the name of many its streets, nor am I very aware of the local  scene today, one of my fantasies is to drive a muscle car there,  listening to Souvlaki from Slowdive, while I travel the places where I lived. I spent about 12 years doing my life there, but that place will be in me forever. I  think this is because many of my best memories of childhood are with my  father's family, which is literally scattered throughout the city. 

De Ciudad Guayana -lugar de donde proviene mi madre, y resido actualmente- no puedo decir menos. Se trata de un ambicioso proyecto ingenieríl de caracter urbano. Fue llevado a cabo apenas el siglo pasado. El concepto se desarrolló gracias a una colaboración entre el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts, la Universidad de Harvard y el militar Rafael Alfonzo Ravardo. La encargada de la ejecución del plan fue la Corporación Venezolana de Guayana. 

 From Ciudad Guayana -where my mother comes from, and I currently reside- I can not say less. It is an ambitious urban engineering project. It was carried out just the last century. The concept was developed thanks to a collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and the military Rafael Alfonzo Ravardo. The Corporación Venezolana de Guayana was responsible for executing the plan. 

Lo que más me gusta de este lugar son las vistas. Creo firmemente que uno no está de verdad aquí hasta que ve las luces nocturnas de Castillito y San Felix mientras pasa cerca del Parque La Navidad. O hasta que sube desde San Felix hasta Puerto Ordaz y observa los edificios erguirse soberbios en el horizonte. Personalmente conservo con mucho cariño esta fotografía, que me tomaron en mi universidad:

 What I like most about this place are the views. I firmly believe that one is not really here until you see the night  lights of Castillito and San Felix as you pass near the Parque La Navidad. Or until you approax from San Felix to Puerto Ordaz and watch the buildings stand proud on the horizon. Personally I keep this photograph with great affection, which was taken at my university: 

Repito, las vistas son verdaderamente bonitas.

 I repeat, the views are truly beautiful.

En fin, vengo a ver qué tan al margen de la realidad y con dos o tres conceptos claros sobre redacción, puedo plasmar las cosas que se me vienen a la mente. No sé si esto cuente como bitácora personal, pero me gustaría ver qué tan lejos llego.

 Anyway,  I come to see how far from reality, and with two or three clear concepts about writing, I can capture the things that come to my mind. I do not know if this counts as a personal log, but I would like to see how far I get.

Él decía que quería que se viera "todo ese verguero", refiriéndose a los edificios. Sin embargo, el inclemente sol de las diez y media prefirió llevarle la contraria. Seguro vio la entrevista donde el poeta dijo:

 He said he wanted to see "all that shit", referring to the buildings. However, the inclement sun of ten thirty preferred to take the opposite. Sure he saw the interview where the poet said: 

"En Puerto Ordaz todo el mundo bebe curda   […]  Claro, también porque es una ciudad muy caliente".

 "In Puerto Ordaz everybody drinks curda [...] Of course, also because it is a very hot city".
