Desde niño se caracterizo, por repartir, todo lo que conseguía, entre los pobres. Quedo huérfano muy joven, repartió sus herencia entre los pobre e ingreso a un monasterio. Murió el 06 de Diciembre del año 345 y se le conoce como San Nicolas de Mira ya que sus reliquias reposan en la ciudad de Mira en Italia. Es Patrono de Rusia, Grecia y Turquía.
