We should all flag spam, and here is why

Hey Steemers,

I hope you're all doing well! If you have read me lately, you've seen I have joined the #doyourpart movement. For those of you who don't know it, there's a post here by @positive introducing it and one here explaining how to participate.

So, that said, why is it so important to flag spam here on steemit? There are TONS of reasons, I'll list here just the main ones (the ones we all really care about):

• It occupies space

Spam occupies space, it takes out visibility to quality posts! It steals space to your quality posts! It is already hard enough to get to decent sums, even having decent posts, because it depends a lot on who upvotes your posts more than on how many do. Well, don't you think it is also harder with the spam around?

• You're missing opportunities

On Steemit there is good content of any kind, and of any utility, including job offers:

Now, I've just put in the tag "job" and taken the first 3 results, but imagine how many opportunities (jobs and more) you're missing because of the spam.

Personally, I have found one (if you've read my introduction post you'll know I'm a translator and well... here I got a revision project :)

• To prevent more spam to come

If you don't reject it, the spam will keep coming and coming, and you'll get more and more (because not rejecting it is accepting, silently) and we are all here for quality posts, right? Or aren't we all here for quality posts (and money, don't deny it!) Are you here to see the same post over and over again? For silly gifs and empty copy pastes? If so, then go ahead, I can't and won't try to stop you to see Steemit become a new reddit, precisely the same.

• It's in your interest

Without spam, Steemit will be a better place, have a better fame, and more (and better) investors. That's what we all want. More people investing in Steem and investing more. Do you think people will come to see the spam? Or will they want Q U A L I T Y C O N T E N T ? It's in your interest, in my interest, in the interest of all the steemers who make (or at least try to make) GOOD posts, to get rid of spam.

I think this post is already too long, if needed I'll make another one, but I hope this is enough to convince everyone to start flagging spam.

Go and make Steemit everyday a better place than the day before.
