Today In Space introduceyourself and first post on Steemit!
Hello Steemians!
Today In Space is a space science podcast started by Alex G. Orphanos (me). The podcast was started about four years ago and has changed a lot over the years, and so have I as a person. Our current mission is to spread love and spread science. We are using science communication to help bring science to everyone and discuss why a scientific mindset is so important. We've been on Youtube in video format for over a year and on iTunes in audio for almost 4 years. The podcast also airs on my hometown local public access channel.
I (Alex) am a college educated Aerospace Engineer(BS) that worked as an Aerospace R&D engineer for 4 years, then bounced around other engineering jobs until I started focusing on science communication and taking on engineering projects of my own. I also have a 3D printing company where we bring ideas into reality for hobbyists, makers, engineers, startups, and entrepreneurs. But I'm also a musician, casual gamer, maker, and someone whose passionate about communicating science.
A close friend turned me onto steemit (@jmazo) and I wanted to be a part of the community! It's something new and exciting and a great place to spread love and spread science! I hope you enjoy our podcast, we'll cover all things space and science! Whether it's the latest SpaceX launch and landing, some new NASA discovery, whether we believe in aliens, or what our favorite Space movies are - it's all on the table. We'd love to hear from you! If you have any ideas or topics feel free to share

The audio podcast (same as video) available on iTunes:

I'll be posting our most popular episodes to start, then releasing them here when a new episode comes out! Expect them about once a month, with an episode that's 25 min - 1hr or more long. Interviews, Orbital News, In-depth Science Topics, and more!
For instance, our latest episode was just released. The topic - when does science go too far? Specifically, when does automation, AI, and driverless cars go too far? My special guest John and I tackled these issues and questions and you can watch it here on youtube:
We also went to the March for Science in Boston, MA recently and had the chance to interview four scientifically passionate people and ask "what got them into science?" and "why is it so important?" My special guest Sara and I talk about our day in the cold windy weather supporting science and why science is so important to us. You can watch that episode here.
There's a lot more where that came from and I'm looking forward to being a part of the Steemit community!
Thanks for checking us out - as always, spread love and spread science!
