Asteroid Mission - Lucy
Since I wrote about 16 Psyche, NASA's asteroid mission, I 've decided to write more about asteroid missions. They are also interesting.
Lucy is another mission of NASA about asteroids. On this mission two trojans of Jupiters will be searched. Actually, they look like asteroid clouds. The research team thinks that these trojans are remnants of other planets. Because of that, the research also will give informations about history of Solar System.
You can see the two trojans in the picture below.
This project will launch in October 2021. It will take 12 years. 7 asteroids will be searched. It will be a long journey between the trojans.
Personally, I believe that this project will help a lot to learn about the history of our solar system and thats why the name Lucy comes from the skeleton of a human ancestor.
