Is Elon Musk's Claim to Get People On Mars In 90 Days an Optimistic Prediction Or Used to Scam Investors?

in #space7 years ago

From Earth to Mars in just 90 days, basically three months. Here's a video of Elon's ambition to get to Mars:

Here's what Neil Degrasse Tyson has to say:

My opinion is that this rocket hasn't even been built, therefore hasn't even been tested in space yet, so there is no indication that this rocket will even work in space, let alone perform well. It could be the worst performing shuttle in history. In my personal opinion this 90 days prediction is not based on science because this shuttle hasn't been tested in space.

What are your thoughts on Elon Musk's 90 days to reach Mars prediction? Is it an optimistic prediction? What do you believe his motivation is for predicting that it would only take 90 days to reach Mars?

If there's someone that has proven us wrong on the lack of faith from his weird ideas is Elon Musk. If I had to bet I'd go with the guy to be honest.
