How to spot a South African SAFFAS!!

in #southafrica7 years ago

Planning to visit South Africa? Or just interested in other cultures, either way here follows a few pointers if you ever meet a South African

  • They will most likely greet you with "howzit" "hoe lyk dit" or "sho"
  • Their favourite past time is "braai", it is cooking meat over an open fire, Note: if you want to impress them say something like " I want to braai" or " lets have a braai"
  • Never criticize their sport teams , they are sport crazy especially on Rugby and Cricket
  • Avoid politics they already know about the crime and corruption and have to deal with it daily
  • "Cheers" means good buy

Next post will be about what to do in South Africa, if you are visiting. Follow me!

... and "Baie Dankie" means thank you... everyone isn't suggesting that you go an "Buy a Donkey" :P

Hey @piet94, did you know that we have a group of Saffas connecting on our own discord... check out the @teamsouthafrica account if you're interested.
