When they got on the roof they tried to act like it was normal. I was like if you can't clearly see the damage y'all ahouldnt be in this line of work. So now they're saying we'll get us an estimate for the work and we will turn it in. Wtf does that mean...?!? Well I'll tell ya I have to measure out what's damaged, have them approve it (god knows how long that'll take), schedule the work with my companies crews, have solar city (jack legs) come take them off again, redue the roof (at least I'll get another commission), then have solar city come out again and put them back on. Now lord forbid it gets messed up again otherwise hell this one house may take up the next year of my career. Either way my clients know I'll fight to the death for them. I should have 16-20 new clients already yet this has eaten up that much time. I may just target doing houses from this hail storm that have solar panels on them. What was your over all experience with crap city... I mean solar city?

I'm a handyman in MA, and I've seen like problems with a variety of providers. Most of the installation problems have been due to carelessness and rushing to get the job done. With the installation contractors being on basically a piecework arrangement, they try to pack in as many jobs as possible. As a result, mindfulness and attention to detail suffer. Solar City is just one of a multitude of solar companies who operate on this sort of contractual basis.

My clients are lucky for sure. I wonder how many other homeowners roofs are messed up everyday by this kind of shoty work. If I hadn't inspected after the hail storms and realized that they had done it before it could've caused worse damage going unnoticed until too late. I'll definitely be warning all my clients in the future about signing a contract with Solar City.

In my experience, it happens far more often than any company I know will admit. A lot of my clients are retired or on limited income, and only two (so far) had panels installed. No major problems, but I wasn't happy with the general treatment of my clients. However, I know many more people who have had problems, and are regretting their decision to go along with the scam.

For sure. It hurt my brain to think about the fact. How many elderly people trusted them and have no idea how badly their roofs are marred up because of the installation. Solar City is now having to pay for the roof to be redone. Sucks for my clients yet I'll be watching like a hawk as well as making another $5.4k on the job.

Yeah, unfortunately you have to check up on some of these guys. Good for you to call them on it!
