One of the maximum membership holder golf built in 1980’s clubs in Kyoto Prefecture has been abandoned which was placed on a gigantically big area. The government was in a huge pressure of increasing real estate and their utility issue. Then Kyocera Corporation that s famous for their floating solar plants that has constructed 23 megawatt solar power plant on that old golf field that was totally unable for other uses. This plant has a schedule to start from September 2017.

Kyocera Corporation is also planning to start kind of a similar project in Kagoshima Prefecture With an expectation of almost 92 megawatt power plant

Japan is a county that also maintains a number of financial companies that finances the companies that maintains any kind of natural energy or renewal energy production and product recycle or reuse. GE Energy Financial Services is one of them. With financial help of GE Energy Financial Services another solar plant producing Company Pacific energy is also maintaining two power plants in Okayama Prefecture, and must mention both of these plants are placed on abandoned golf fields.

As a result the idea of turning these abandoned fields into a step to save humanity has gone very famous these days. US government also adopted the idea to convert the abandoned golf courses into solar power plants.

In the meantime, Japan’s energy policy has adopted a change of plan after Fukushima incident. They have started to implement on a plan to approximately double the renewal power source of the country between 2030. As a result they have already building solar plants that float on water. So now we can say the idea o building a solar power plant on old golf courses is probably common thought for a nation like Japanese who always comes out with proper utility maximization.

Nice article! I'll have to see if I can find that particular solar farm. There is one in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture that I have seen, but it wasn't previously a golf course.
