A SOLAR eclipse is different than a LUNAR eclipse, in how which the SOLAR eclipse will occur during the day, when the moon is directly between the sun and the earth (blocking the suns rays onto the earth). A LUNAR eclipse happens at night, when the earth lie between the sun and the moon (giving the moon a red shade from the earth's shadow, also known as a BLOOD MOON).

SOLAR eclipses can be extremely dangerous without proper eye protection. SOLAR eclipses will last only a few minutes whereas a LUNAR eclipse will last a few hours.
