An American Socioeconomic Empowerment Project: The Proposal for a PUBLIC Market Date

in #socioeconomic7 years ago

Hello Steemit. I'm Sharon, I'm new here. I've been using the internet to tout an idea that I have had since 2003. That is the year I presented my idea via email to "then" Mayor Martin O'Malley, whom I highly admire and his wife the Honorable Judge Curran. At the time, I thought my idea was a slam dunk and would be welcomed by the leaders and police force in Baltimore City, Maryland. Through the years, I realized I was never more wrong - but thats' a different story. I made it my mission to put this idea out on the "then" internet which has now evolved into social media. The idea is pretty simple. Civic LLCs would save this country, our communities, our youth and our future. As with any LLC or any business, you would need an awesome product and the product I found to be best would be better mental and physical health, a place where families could have fun and feel welcomed, a profit dividend that supported a multitude of people.
10,000 citizens invest 50bux on our PUBLIC market date, we purchase 6 acres of land in Baltimore city, build an adventure park, split the profits equally, do business openly, honestly and inclusive. We do this to have a better security by not only getting to know one another and knowing who walks among us in our communities, but to see one another as benefactors instead of strangers and competitors. It would also help bridge the gap between the hard working members of our communities and the political leaders who represent us. Health information could be shared, encouragement given and the awesome opportunity to become hometown celebrities amongst ourselves by implementing the high tech features used all throughout the city for policing be also used to broadcast our struggles and accomplishments on a flagship 24/7 perimeter exercise course.
Again, through the years, I've posted this idea to "myspace"-which is defunct because I haven't tried that site in years; "youtube" - a channel which was oddly taken down in June 2015, two months after the Baltimore riots, scribd.com, which is still up, but everytime the number gets to 1000, it oddly drops back to zero. Facebook and Twitter are still up, and my new Youtube channel hasn't got the spark and excitement that the original had mainly because I don't feel that my message would stand up today against all the awesomely edited vids that look professionally produced.
But what keeps me going is my book. Free link, no charge, no blog www.scribd.com/sharon_watson_6 Copyright 2009 and self funded. If there is a cost, the cost is 15 minutes of your time. But I am so proud of my book because though it came from a very dark incident I had one day coming home from my day job with a police officer in my driveway, a time where there was no social media, and his word against mine, I purposely wrote on an 8th grade level where a young person could understand. I purposely left out any profanity, blaming, or anger. I felt that those qualities would help my message get through, and peace is a commodity which stands the test of time.
So over ten years later trying to find my voice, a team and a platform, I've considered some changes, but the 24/7 perimeter is pretty non-negotiable. Here is why I think its' a great idea and a money maker. I was thinking of the drug addicted citizen, the citizen who is living in a turbulent home, the citizen who is consumed with worry over whatever their issues. These are the people who wander the streets between midnight and 4A on any given night, and the perimeter would be someplace positive and secure to go instead of falling into wherever and whatever the night brings. Personal story: In 2013 my "then" 26 year old son was stabbed 9 times and dumped in the back of a high school football field which backed to a cemetery. He was found at 420A by two walkers who were walking the track at that time. They called 911 and the ambulance crew (I am former army medic/ambulance driver), the medical team at Maryland Shock Trauma and the mighty grace of God saved my son's life.
Today I'm a grandmother, still very interested in living in good health, peace and prosperity. I can't feel prosperous unless the people around are happy, healthy and wealthy as well. I have no desire to live like the rich and famous because I am genuinely a simplistic person. I have no jealousies toward people who do strive for opulent living because I believe in all things, if what you wish for in life hurts no innocent person, you have every right to go for it. I think today as I did in 2003, Americans are beggars sitting on a goldmine and many of our wounds and healing are self inflicted and self prescribed.
There is so much more I want to say, but I hope this post can be a sufficient introduction of who and what I am about. Hate solves nothing. Ego builds no house, strengthens no community, helps no youth. Pride builds a house, keeps it clean, fosters mutual respect from the master who owns it to the worker who helps to maintain it.
Lastly, my thoughts on religion and faith is those are personal choices stemming from the personal journey. No one has the right to impose any thought on another adult. However as members in a community, everyone has the right to ask that we treat one another with a basic human respect for life and the opportunity to pursue our personal happiness through our own potential. Happy fourth of July. God Bless America and thank you for viewing this post.
